Ron Goldstein is Executive Director of the Center for Afterschool and Expanded Learning, leading Foundations’ work to advance the educational quality of out-of-school time – and using his on-the-ground perspective to help guide the organization’s strategic planning and initiatives. Prior to joining the Foundations family, Ron spent over twenty-five years as a junior high school teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Philadelphia area. Ron earned a Master’s in Educational Administration from Villanova University and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University; he also holds a Principal Certification from Arcadia University.
Ron was born and raised in Philadelphia, but loves to travel with his amazing wife Jan – especially on a cruise. As a diehard Jimmy Buffet fan, Ron especially loves traveling anywhere that he can kick back on the beach with a drink in hand. Ron’s secret is that he’s a big sports fan (especially football) and athlete (he was a gymnast in college!) – in fact, he started his career in education as a physical education teacher!
