Amanda Mitchell leads Talent Services at Foundations, Inc., where she strengthens the organization’s talent strategy and partners with schools and districts to build people-centered systems. She believes that equitable, intentional talent practices are essential to creating schools where both students and educators thrive.
Previously, Amanda served as Executive Director of Recruitment and Selection for the School District of Philadelphia, where she led districtwide hiring strategy and supported principals in building strong school teams. She began her career in the classroom, first teaching in the Mississippi Delta, then in Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington, DC Public Schools, and later served in school leadership roles in both Philadelphia and DC. She has since partnered with school systems across the country, including those in Milwaukee, El Paso, Mississippi, and Arkansas, to strengthen how they recruit, support, and retain great educators.
Amanda earned her Bachelor’s degrees in English and Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University, with a focus on Education, Social, and Family Policy. She lives in Moorestown, New Jersey, with her husband and their school-aged son and loves exploring new places, reading, spending time outdoors, and cheering on Philly sports teams.
