On Site School Assessment/School Improvement Process (OSASIP)
Foundations uses its On Site School Assessment/School Improvement Process (OSASIP®) family of products to conduct customized assessments that target identified areas of concern.
Foundations' OSASIP® was developed with support from the U.S. Department of Education and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The OSASIP is a comprehensive means of evaluating school effectiveness and assisting schools in developing a plan for improvement. The 22 "Essential Building Blocks of School Success" describe what should be accomplished in all areas of school operation and direct improvement efforts towards school success.
As an example of our work using this tool, we conducted an in-depth assessment and made detailed recommendations for school improvement at the Pittsburgh-based Manchester Academic Charter School, which was on the verge of closure for lack of academic progress. The school implemented the recommendations and was honored with a Blue Ribbon award for school excellence, announced by the U.S. Department of Education on September 9, 2008.
