Reneira Nieves

Program Assistant

Renie provides organization-wide support for Foundations' business operations and services to the education world. In an administrative capacity, she works with all internal departments, from marketing and communications to finance to direct-service programs and services. Her routine role runs the gamut, from executing promotional mailings, handling contract filings, and preparing professional development publications and training materials for shipment.

However, perhaps Renie's most significant role is one of an ambassador for the organization. For more than 10 years she has served as a liaison at Foundations' community and school events, working with stakeholders such as students and their families, teachers, leaders, business partners, and the media. At Foundations' trademark Beyond School Hours® national conferences, Renie has handled dozens of VIPs over the years, including the late Maya Angelou, Al Roker, Geoffrey Canada, Ben Carson, Chubby Checker, and more. With respect to BSH conference planning, Renie is also known to many by the avatar "Vendorina" for the hundreds of relationships she has cultivated with education vendors who showcase their products in the BSH conference exhibit hall. A cartoon bobble headed likeness of Renie as "Vendorina" has become a popular feature in BSH conference promotions.

Renie has dedicated her entire career to working in the nonprofit sector in the greater Philadelphia region, with particular focus on K-12 education, afterschool enrichment, and college and career prep.
