Nancy A. Reid, Ed.D.
Dr. Nancy Reid provides leadership and direction for afterschool programs and projects. She served as the program director for Homework Zone, an afterschool program that operated in fifteen high schools in the School District of Philadelphia and ten secondary schools in Camden, NJ. The Homework Zone focused on offering students the opportunity to drop in to work on homework, get tutoring help, use reference materials and supplies, and study for tests with friends. Nancy serves as liaison to the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), participating in the design and delivery of workshops to accompany their publication, Leading After-School Learning Communities: Standards for What Principals Should Know and Be Able to Do.
Nancy has held many posts in education, including superintendent of schools of the Centennial School District in Warminster, PA; associate superintendent for curriculum and instruction, regional superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and classroom teacher in the School District of Philadelphia; and director of the office of program review and improvement in the New Jersey Department of Education. A recognized expert in the field of educational administration, she has presented at conferences and workshops throughout the country and has testified before the US Senate.
