Judy Ha Kim

Project Director, Center for Afterschool and Expanded Learning

Judy Ha Kim's passion is to help students succeed, become lifelong learners, and ultimately become change-makers who transform our world for the better.  As Project Director, Center for Afterschool and Expanded Learning, Judy designs and delivers professional development services for general OST programs and for the U.S. Department of Education's You for Youth (Y4Y) technical assistance web portal for 21st Century Community Learning Centers.  She also assists with marketing and development to broaden Foundations’ national reach.

Prior to joining Foundations, Judy served as Assistant Director of Asian Americans United, a non-profit community organization in Philadelphia, where she was involved in training and curriculum development for youth leadership and social justice.   Her OST experience also spans a variety of afterschool and summer program models, such as Summerbridge, Freedom School, and Americorps/NSCC.    She also has taught middle school Social Studies as well as K-8 and adult ESOL for public and private schools in the greater Philadelphia area.  With expertise in interactive project-based learning, English language learning, and culturally responsive teaching methods, Judy brings particular knowledge of global education issues to her work at Foundations.

Judy holds a Master's degree in Multicultural Education from Eastern University and a Bachelor's degree in political science and education from Swarthmore College.
