Barbara Hare

Director, Communications

Barbara Hare directs national communications and marketing initiatives in support of Foundations' mission to transform the world of learning for children and youth. With specialty experience in start-up and entrepreneurial projects, Barbara applies a unique blend of creativity, strategic thinking and practical application to her work at Foundations. She collaborates closely with program teams to support the expansion of Foundations' services and products, from professional development and customized technical assistance to business services and targeted education materials.

A lead planner for Foundations' signature Beyond School Hours national education conference, Barbara influences all programming, content, marketing and operations for this annual event. With her support, the Beyond School Hours brand retains its status as a major professional development resource for 2000 educators who, in turn, serve 350,000 of the nation's most vulnerable students.

Barbara's career in marketing and communications spans the for-profit and non-profit sectors, in the fields of environmental biotech, nutritional food science and education. She holds a BA degree in Literature from West Chester University, with concentrations in technical writing and ethnic studies.
