Allyson Zalewski

Training and Technical Assistance Specialist, Center for Afterschool and Expanded Learning Foundations, Inc.

An integral member of Foundations' Center for Afterschool and Expanded Learning team, Allyson Zalewski builds the skills and capacity of adults nationwide who have made a commitment to improving education for children. Her work reflects her dedication to one of the most critical issues in the field of education today: the quality of educators who serve America's children and youth. As Training and Technical Assistance Specialist, Allyson contributes to the design and delivery of Foundations' professional development services for out-of-school time programs and for the U.S. Department of Education's You for Youth (Y4Y) online professional learning and technical assistance portal for 21st Century Community Learning Centers programs.

Allyson's background includes 14 years of experience as a teacher and program administrator in culturally diverse communities in the Philadelphia region. She spent 12 years in the Southeast Delco School District, first as an elementary school teacher and most recently, she was responsible for designing and implementing out-of-school time programs funded by three 21st CCLC grants. Allyson holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in Children's Literature and a B.S. degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education in Math and Science from Penn State University, as well as numerous administrative and instructional certifications.
